Whether your celebrate Ostara, Easter, Seder or simply springtime, chances are there's a dessert you love that goes well with this time of year. For me, it's pastel petit fours and sugar cookies, lightly lemon-flavored goodness and earl grey tea cakes! Doesn't that sound scrumptious? I'd love a nice high tea right now with all of that and some delicious cucumber sandwiches.
While we usually chat about everything from the best produce to the best restaurants, today I thought we could share what we love most about the Northwest, especially in terms of what you can only (or mostly only) find there.
It's no secret that when it comes to poetry communities, AllPoetry is my favorite. It's just the one I enjoyed in college and I loved being able to collaborate, read and share, submit to contests and just belong to the community. They do have a Facebook page as well if you'd like to follow them there.
Last weekend we found ourselves in a very awkward position. Firstly, I had been up all night working and overslept, making my teen late to host the monthly zoom game with friends. Then none of our computers would work, followed by zoom itself not working! Once we finally got in 10 minutes late, the online game my kiddo had chosen wasn't working, either! Insert scream.
Hungry bloggers, how am I just now learning about sheet pan recipes? I've done so much in muffin tins, one-pan recipes and crockpots but I've never made a sheet pan meal! Have you heard of these? Just look at all of the things you can cook on one sheet for a full meal. The tandoori chicken is the one that's calling my name but most of these look sooo good.
Have you seen the Corona Sunrise challenge going around? You drink part of a Corona beer (I must admit, not my favorite) and mix in a few ingredients to make a tequila sunrise right in the bottle. If anything, it's pretty clever.
When I was young, I used to get a kick out of how fast I read. I wasn't fast at first. I was an early reader, but it took me until second grade to get fast, and that's when my teacher let me check out middle school books because the younger books annoyed me. I remember the first time I read a chapter book and thought each chapter was a different story! Once I got the hang of it I was reading two or three "chapter books" a day, although back then they would be under 200 pages. Today they are door stoppers.
There have been a lot of developments in terms of diabetes treatments lately, with researchers finding all kinds of promising new things regarding the disease. For example, some research on regeneration of cells has led a team of researchers in Australia to discover a possible pathway toward treating insulin resistance in the body.
