Painting The Roses Red

My teenager has been home for over a month now without friends and is feeling quite lonely. We've homeschooled all along, but those who homeschool know that this is definitely not what homeschooling looks like! Without co-op, daily classes, field trips and events--especially our monthly teen night, art club, acting, and other beloved opportunities with friends--it's lonely for a lot of kids right now. So I've been trying to make sure we have fun every day, whether it's drawing together or singing karaoke.

Scrappy Science

One thing we can all agree on, aside from the fact that our doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers are heroes, is that they should never need to beg, borrow or steal medical supplies. That's what it seems like they have to do right now as our government fails them, and they need us to not only stay home right now, but to continue to pressure our officials to prioritize healthcare--and to vote for officials that will do just that!

Shodai Teriyaki

Choosing between staying home and cooking or being a patron of the many restaurants continuing to operate during Covid-19 is a difficult decision for many Americans. We don't only want to help businesses stay open, but we want the yummy goodness that doesn't just feed us but also gives us comfort--including Chinese food, like the treats we find at Shodai Teriyaki. What's nice about Shodai is that you can get a full Chinese meal featuring your favorites, like chicken and gyoza or teriyaki, at affordable prices.

Sheltering At Home With Cats

Now that many of us are at home with our pets all day, our pets are finding themselves making new adjustments, too! While a lot of dogs are thrilled to have their people home all day (except for those who like to sneak on the furniture when you're not there), many cats are surely surly about having to share their palaces with humans 24/7 all of a sudden. Still, cats provide endless entertainment for many of us, from giving us snuggles to chasing lasers and fake mice around.

National Emergency Library

Students, teachers and learners of all ages who suddenly find themselves at home are finding many unique and creative ways to access learning materials remotely. One of these established resources is the National Emergency Library, a collection of books in multiple subjects and languages to help assist those learning and teaching from home. There are over a million works available in the National Emergency Library!

NASA Working On Photonic Propulsion System

The human race has been fascinated by the lights in the sky for thousands of years. Mars was called the God of War because of its red color. With the development of high quantity telescopes in the Nineteenth century, observations of Mars revealed a network of lines that Schaperelli called “channels.” That was translated into “canals” in English.
